How Traffic Warrants Work in Erath County
A missed citation response or unsatisfied court judgment can lead to further court process. The result depends on the case and issuing court. A ticket balance, FTA entry, warrant, and capias pro fine should not be treated as interchangeable.
Erath’s traffic-record routes are split among two JP offices and two city courts. The question is which court holds your citation and what action its file now requires. No complete public countywide traffic-warrant registry was located.
Erath Traffic Warrant Citation Search Fields
The four local citation portals expose similar search families. A matching form design does not mean their records are combined.
| Mode | Observed inputs |
|---|---|
| Citation | Number and birth date. |
| Name | First name, last name, birth date. |
| Driver license | Number, state, birth date. |
| Vehicle | Plate, state, and a second field not fully identified in research. |
| Other | SSN with birth date, or business name. |
Protect private inputs. Citation-number searching is useful when you have the ticket; no observed control guaranteed warrant-specific results.
Erath County Traffic Warrant Checks
Use the JP 1/3/4 office, 254-965-1489, or JP 2, 254-445-2766, for precinct citations. Each official page provides its own portal route.
City citations go to Stephenville’s citation search or Dublin’s municipal search. Call Stephenville at 254-552-1227 or Dublin’s portal contact at 254-445-3348 when a result does not identify current process. Ask the issuing court rather than relying only on the amount shown.
Erath Traffic Warrants After Stephenville’s Response Date
Stephenville Municipal Court says the response date is below the citation signature and asks people to wait three business days before appearing on a new citation. That instruction does not create a general extension past the printed response date.
If the date has passed, ask whether the city file shows a citation, FTA/VPA, arrest warrant, or capias pro fine. The city explains that failure to appear can produce additional process, charges, fees, and a DPS renewal-denial report.
Traffic Warrants: What They Show
A public citation result may not include a warrant field. Ask for the following information through the relevant Erath court.
| Citation key | Your citation number; no verified local format is assumed. |
|---|---|
| Court | City or precinct named on the citation. |
| Process | Current warrant, FTA, judgment, or capias label. |
| Amount | Fine, costs, bond, and fees identified separately. |
| Appearance and reporting | Next setting, recall conditions, and any DPS update. |
Erath Traffic Warrants: Dublin Is Not JP 2
Dublin Municipal Court is at 213 E Blackjack. JP 2 is at 219 S Grafton. The city court page lists 254-445-3331, while the JP office uses 254-445-2766. Start with the heading on your own ticket.
No detailed current Dublin warrant, capias, or payment-plan policy was located. Ask that court for its present requirements. Do not assume the city offers Stephenville’s payment percentage or that JP 2 can recall a municipal warrant.
Clearing an Erath County Traffic Warrant
Confirm whether the court permits payment, bond, a hearing, a plan, or another court-directed route. A capias pro fine is post-judgment process used in applicable unsatisfied fine or judgment matters, with relevant statutory hearing protections.
Stephenville’s ordinary payment plan excludes warrant-status offenses and requires an in-person route. Its warrant page gives separate capias-pro-fine full-payment instructions.
Ask for the full ledger and current accepted instruments. Countywide bond-window hours were not found. Retain written confirmation that the process has been addressed.
Erath Traffic Warrant Costs Versus Plan Fees
Stephenville’s eligible ordinary plan describes an initial 50% payment and a $15 administrative fee per violation where applicable. Its form also warns about time-payment and capias-pro-fine reimbursement categories. These are city terms, not a universal county payoff.
Transportation Code Chapter 706 separately provides a $10 FTA/FTP reimbursement category per citation, subject to exceptions. Ask the issuing court to identify each charge and whether it applies. Do not add unrelated figures into a presumed total.
How Traffic Warrants Trigger License Holds
FTA/FTP reporting can accompany local process, but a hold alone does not establish an arrest warrant. The DPS FAQ says license specialists cannot confirm outstanding arrest warrants.
| Entry | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Traffic warrant | Issuing court’s current process. |
| FTA/FTP report | Reporting court and unresolved requirement. |
| Renewal hold | Court reporting and DPS update status. |
Work with the reporting court and retain proof of its resolution.
Erath Traffic Warrant Follow-Up After Payment
Ask when the court will update process and any DPS report. A receipt records payment; it may not itself be a signed recall order or proof that another system has updated. Keep both the receipt and the court’s written status reply.
For Sheriff-held arrest or execution material, call 254-965-3338 or use the Sheriff’s public-information route. Such a request does not clear a ticket. If the court identity remains uncertain, the Erath warrant-check routes separate clerk, municipal, and precinct sources.
